Saint Rita's Childhood Home


Research regarding the childhood home of St. Rita, which was opened to the public in 1999 after careful and lengthy restoration, was a subject of discussion for many years among the savant. They studied maps and documents, but all in vain. The Opera di Santa Rita was founded on the 24th November 1938 to eliminate the ever-increasing disorientation and to work towards a precise historical explanation. Today it is possible to visit the childhood home of the Saint, which, for most part, has preserved its authenticity not having suffered any considerable damage during the earthquake of the 4th November 1599; on the contrary, a part of the building has undergone restoration, which, during the time, has modified the original state of the house.
